Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering work across a UK-wide set of sites. The role offers hybrid working with occasional home days, a 40-hour week, and starts from £60k per year.

The position involves leading diverse projects, ensuring design compliance and safety, and supporting tendering, preconstruction and delivery with a focus on buildability and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Qualified civil/structural/geotechnical engineer with chartered status or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of design standards and temporary works practices.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Leading delivery of a broad range of complex construction engineering services, including temporary works design and checking.
• Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing scope, programme and budget.
• Producing and checking design outputs (calculations, sketches, drawings, models) ensuring CDM/SHE and QA compliance.
• Developing team capability and contributing to process improvements.
