Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead major building structures projects and mentor engineers across diverse sectors. The role is based in the UK with flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on design excellence and collaboration.

You will hold CEng with IStructE or ICE, have extensive steel and concrete design experience to European standards, and manage proposals, risk, and client liaison within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with membership of IStructE or ICE
• Experience in structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Building Safety Act
• Experience with TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries, and Revit Structures
• Full driving licence

Responsibilities

• Act as lead structural engineer on major and complex building projects
• Prepare fee proposals, activity schedules, and risk assessments
• Mentor other Structural Engineers and Technicians and support CPD
• Produce and check structural calculations, drawings, models, reports and specifications
• Lead design discussions at project meetings with Building Control and authorities
