Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer for its Chorley office. You will lead design, calculations and project delivery across residential, commercial, industrial and healthcare sectors.

The role blends technical leadership with business development as you mentor juniors and maintain strong client relationships. Applicants should hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, be a Chartered Engineer or working toward chartership, and demonstrate extensive UK consultancy

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer status with IStructE or ICE, or working toward chartership.
• Proven UK structural consultancy experience and building design delivery.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS and UK Building Regulations.
• Experience designing RC, steel, masonry and timber structures.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of structural projects from concept through to completion.
• Undertake and review calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians.
• Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and technical quality.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development via fee proposals and client meetings.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, supporting their professional growth.
• Ensure designs comply with UK standards, Eurocodes, Building Regulations and HSE requirements.
