Job summary

Leicestershire County Council seeks a Senior Specialist Teacher for Assistive Technology to lead strategic development and delivery of AT provision for learners with SEND across the county. You will work with schools, families and partners to raise outcomes, drive inclusion and shape service delivery.

The role combines leadership with hands-on delivery, including training and expert advice, across the Specialist Teaching Service. Flexible working options may be discussed.

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and QTS with evidence of further professional training in SEND and assistive technology or ICT.
• Substantial experience of working with school-age children and young people with SEND, applying assistive technology to improve learning, communication and inclusion.
• Experience leading service development, strategic projects or quality assurance with data to evaluate impact and manage resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of assistive technology and ICT provision for learners with SEND across the county.
• Provide expert advice to the Local Authority on policy, practice and resource allocation for assistive and inclusive technology; deliver training and professional learning.
• Coordinate assessments, interventions and procurement of AT resources to ensure cost-efficient, equitable use across educational settings.
