Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Senior Specialist Teacher for Assistive Technology to lead the strategic development of AT provision across the county and to support SEND reforms. This leadership role combines strategic oversight with delivery responsibilities, including training and resource management.

Working within the Specialist Teaching Service, you will provide expert advice to the Local Authority, oversee AT assessments, and build strong partnerships with schools, families,

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification and QTS with evidence of further professional training and development in SEND and assistive technology or ICT.
• Substantial experience of working directly with school age children and young people with SEND, including demonstrable expertise in applying assistive technology to improve learning.
• Experience of leading service development, strategic projects or quality assurance activities, using data to evaluate impact and drive service improvement.
• Experience of working in partnership with schools, families and agencies to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of assistive technology provision for learners with SEND.
• Provide expert advice to the Local Authority on policy, practice and resource allocation for AT and ICT.
• Coordinate and quality assure AT assessments, interventions and reports across the county.
• Oversee procurement, management and evaluation of AT resources and equipment for equitable use.
