Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting is seeking a Lead Software Developer to design, build, and maintain high-quality software for UK government clients, delivering value for citizens and the public sector. You will work in a multidisciplinary agile team on government services meeting Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and accessibility requirements.

This hands-on role focuses on security, performance, accessibility, and reliability within governed environments, helping enable secure information

Qualifications

Strong experience designing, building, and operating production software systems.
Proficient with modern development standards, including CI/CD and code review.
Understanding of information security principles and secure-by-default engineering.
Experience with systems design and integration in complex environments.
Comfortable supporting services in production, including on-call and incident response.

Responsibilities

Lead development across one or a small number of related teams.
Guide engineering practices, ways of working, and quality standards.
Be proficient across a wide range of technical systems and identify tooling.
Make architectural and build-vs-buy decisions with the Technical Architect.
Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring throughout the engagement.
Contribute to the Scrumconnect developer community and promote good practices.
Act as a senior on-call responder and drive long-term resilience improvements.
