Job summary

easyJet is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Departure & Compliance to own the technical strategy and backend/ frontend engineering across our critical airport platforms. You will guide a small squad of engineers, deliver production-grade software, and ensure high reliability of complex data flows with modern engineering practices.

The role combines hands-on development with squad leadership in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on software engineering background delivering production systems.
Experience leading small squads while remaining hands-on.
Full-stack development across backend, frontend and cloud.
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and observability.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and operate production software in a hands-on capacity.
Lead the squad’s technical delivery: break down problems, align the team, and maintain momentum.
Make squad-scoped technical decisions, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and sustainability.
Set and uphold engineering standards through design, code review, testing discipline, and operational ownership.
Strengthen engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and reliable production operations.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and technical curiosity.
