Job summary

Brett Group is hiring a Shift Supervisor to manage a cementitious products terminal in Sheerness, Kent. You will lead a small team, supervise unloading ships and bulk handling, and ensure safe, efficient operations across day and night shifts.

The role emphasises proactive maintenance coordination, hands-on leadership, and timely response to equipment issues to keep operations on track and satisfy customers in a demanding port environment.

Qualifications

• Daily mechanical inspections of site and equipment.
• Health and safety training and awareness.
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot operations.
• Planning and organising to manage shifts and workload.
• Strong interpersonal skills to lead a team.
• Knowledge of plant equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of operatives to keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently.
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for all staff under supervision.
• Supervise all operational aspects of cementitious terminal activities, including ship handling and bulk loading.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule and prioritise equipment upkeep and repairs.
• Oversee shift handovers and maintain equipment readiness for vessel arrivals.
