Job summary

University of Cambridge is seeking a Supervisory Service Technician to ensure smooth operation of the service area in our biofacility in Cambridge. The role involves daily cleaning, movement and preparation of caging, consumables and stock using cagewash and related machinery to meet daily needs of staff and research users.

The successful candidate will supervise the service team, allocate tasks, and uphold high standards of work, hygiene and safety as per SOPs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with industrial cage wash / autoclave in academic or commercial lab is essential.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy with basic IT literacy are important.
• Ability to manage own time and workload.

Responsibilities

• Clean, move and prepare clean caging, consumables, stock and other equipment using cagewash and related machinery.
• Act as a key contact for the Service team and allocate daily tasks.
• Maintain hygiene and organisation per SOPs; work lifting/manual handling.
