Job summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced Building Services Technician to oversee plant and related services for modern research facilities in Cambridge. You will manage planned and reactive maintenance, operate plant and mechanical equipment, troubleshoot, and perform minor works across the site.

You will support preventative maintenance schedules, repair and install building services, and maintain large research equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in installation or management of mechanical and electrical services in a research or similar facility.
• Strong understanding of plumbing, heating and ventilation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant and related services for Cambridge facilities.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and minor works.
• Operate plant and mechanical equipment; troubleshoot and repair where needed.
• Assist in preventative maintenance schedules and ensure reliability of systems.
• Maintain large research equipment related to the role.
