Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Head Waiter to lead the restaurant floor in a high-end setting in Shoreditch/East London. You will oversee service, guide the team, and maintain the exceptional standards expected by our members and guests.

The role requires 2–3 years in a similar environment with supervisory experience, strong wine knowledge, and a polished, professional demeanour. Expect proactive training, VIP service, and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment with supervisory or senior waiter experience.
• Excellent food and beverage knowledge including wine service.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
• Confident, polished and professional demeanor.
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and ensure immediate engagement upon seating.
• Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating allergies or dietary needs.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for timely, correct order delivery.
• Provide knowledgeable menu recommendations including wine pairings.
• Maintain exemplary table service and proactively top up beverages.
• Ensure a pristine environment with clean, well-set tables.
• Handle member requests and special accommodations to create memorable experiences.
• Support payment through card, Soho House App or House Pay.
• Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially with VIPs.
• Lead and supervise daily service on the restaurant floor.
• Support and motivate waitstaff with training and feedback.
