Job summary

Soho Farmhouse, Hay Barn, is seeking a Head Waiter to lead front-of-house service, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. You will work with the Restaurant Manager, guiding the team, delivering polished service, and maintaining Soho House standards throughout service.

The role requires 2–3 years in high-end dining with supervisory experience, strong knowledge of food and drink, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment, with supervisory or senior waiter experience
• Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
• Confident, polished, and professional demeanour
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet members, introduce menus, and engage on seating
• Take accurate food and drink orders, accommodating allergies or dietary needs
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, correct orders
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items and pairings
• Maintain exceptional table service with proactive beverage replenishment
• Keep the dining environment pristine and tables reset promptly
• Handle member requests with flexible, personalized service
• Support seamless payment through card, app, or House Pay
• Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially with VIPs
• Lead and supervise the daily service on the restaurant floor and motivate staff
