Job summary

The Captains Nest is seeking a passionate Lead SEND Teacher to join our vibrant school community. You will lead specialist curriculum provision for children aged 4–11 with Communication and Interaction needs, and work within the Discovery Trust network to deliver high-quality, inclusive education.

You will conduct annual reviews, monitor progress toward EHCP outcomes, and support colleagues’ professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level including Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching the age range 4–11 with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead specialist curriculum provision for the Nest.
• Conduct Annual Reviews.
• Review pupil progress towards EHCP outcomes.
• Collaborate with specialists and external agencies.
• Support consultation with local authorities.
• Support professional development of staff.
• Prepare and develop teaching materials, programmes and pastoral arrangements.
