Job summary

Discovery Trust is seeking an experienced Lead SEND Teacher for The Captains Nest within its network of specialist schools. You will lead a personalised, inclusive curriculum for children with a wide range of needs and engage with external agencies to support EHCP outcomes.

The post requires strong leadership in curriculum design, collaboration with families and authorities, and a commitment to professional development of staff. Travel between Discovery locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree with QTS and teaching experience for the relevant age range.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to actively participate in school life and ethos.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Annual Reviews
• Review pupil's progress towards EHCP outcomes
• Work with specialists and external agencies
• Support consultation process and work with local authority
• Support the professional development of support colleagues and teachers
• Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
  Grade: We will consider MPS 3-6 and Upper Pay Scale 1-3 for the right candidate and based on experience. The post also attracts a SEN Allowance at point 1 or 2 depending on experience., We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead SEND Teacher to join our vibrant school community.
