Job summary

The Harris Federation is seeking an exceptional Lead Science Teacher to work across its Secondary Central Quadrant, with initial deployment at Harris Academy Battersea and Harris Academy Peckham. You will lead science teaching across academies, coach colleagues, and drive school improvement while ensuring high standards of student outcomes.

You will have QTS or equivalent, a relevant undergraduate science degree, and at least three years of teaching experience, including two in management, with

Qualifications

• QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• At least three years' teaching experience.
• At least two years in a management role.
• Experience of teaching Science to A-Level.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum programme of study for Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach key examination groups with up to 80% teaching commitment.
• Deliver outstanding teaching and model best practice across the department.
• Plan and deliver a broad, balanced, differentiated curriculum.
• Monitor and support student progress, attainment and personal development.
• Create an engaging learning environment to help all students reach potential.
• Support academies to maintain high standards of academic and personal growth.
• Drive improvement within Science departments to meet ambitious targets.
• Implement targeted interventions to raise outcomes.
• Deliver professional development and student intervention programmes.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
