Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Children Professional to lead the safeguarding agenda across the Trust and support a Think Family approach. You will provide high-quality safeguarding advice to staff, coordinate training and supervision, and build strong relationships with internal teams and external agencies including Police and Social Care.

Qualifications

• Registered professional with safeguarding supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding adults and children’s agenda.
• Ability to provide safeguarding advice to staff and services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safeguarding across the Trust within a clinical governance framework.
• Develop Think Family practice with the 0-18 years safeguarding service leads.
• Provide a crucial link between staff, Safeguarding & Vulnerable People Team and external agencies.
• Attend multi-agency meetings and act as safeguarding role model.
• Lead quality assurance, audits and report writing on safeguarding.
• Assess risk and advise clinicians on safeguarding and domestic violence issues.
• Ensure statutory safeguarding obligations are met for unborn children, children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• Contribute to Child Safeguarding and Learning Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews.
