Careys in London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial (Quantity Surveying) team. You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through final accounts, ensuring profitable delivery.

You will work closely with project managers and operational teams to support informed commercial decisions, manage budgets, and monitor performance. The role offers a path to lead on significant regional projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or related construction.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, cost control and reporting.
• Experience managing subcontractor packages, change control and final accounts.
• Ability to identify commercial risks and work collaboratively to resolve challenges.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors.

Responsabilités

• Managing project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow and commercial reporting.
• Monitoring project performance, identifying risks/opportunities, and taking action.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiations, appointments, valuations and payments.
• Administering contracts, variations, and change control procedures.
• Preparing monthly cost/value reports and forecasts.
• Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders for informed decisions.
• Resolving contractual/commercial matters.
• Mentoring and developing junior commercial team members.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records throughout the lifecycle.
