Job description

Lead Product / UX Designer (e-commerce) needed for an initial 3-month engagement with our Financial Services client in London. The role will involve 1 day per week onsite in London and will focus on supporting the development of their subscription-based products in the UK market.

Our client is looking for a strong Senior / Lead Product / UX Designer to lead discovery & user research, design user journeys, wireframes and prototypes articulating the value of premium experiences across both website and app. The successful candidate will deliver end-to-end design solutions, from early concepts through to polished UI in Figma, collaborating with product managers, developers and business stakeholders in order to align design solutions with business goals.

Candidates must have previous demonstrable experience designing digital products, with case studies specifically covering e-commerce and subscription-based digital SaaS businesses.

The role is Inside IR35 and is Hybrid with one day per week onsite in London and can pay up to £490 per day to Umbrella.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience designing digital products, with case studies specifically covering e-commerce and subscription-based digital SaaS businesses (a case study with feature gating would be preferred).
• Strong UX and UI design skills, with the ability to take an idea from discovery to delivery
• Comfortable with ambiguity, able to frame and define problems and explore different options
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to work across teams and senior stakeholders
• Fluent in Figma and other whiteboarding or prototyping tools
• Strong understanding of freemium models and how to design experiences that drive conversion and retention
• Experience planning and conducting user research
• A commercial mindset, with an appreciation for balancing user needs and business outcomes
• Familiarity with experimentation, analytics, and measuring design impact
