Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Process Technician Advanced to provide flexible cover and lead field-based activities at our Chingford site. You will mentor apprentices, contribute to maintenance plans, and coordinate a small team of technicians. The role supports a strong Safety culture and hands-on process improvements.

You will manage day-to-day activities, attend planning meetings, and help ensure first-time fixes while upholding site pride and H&S standards. A driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment process and plant.
• Proactive – lead on recommendations and site improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
• Strong teamwork – one team with common goals.
• IOSH trained or willing to complete H&S training.
• A valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentoring for team members, including apprentices and new starters.
• Contribute to maintenance plan delivery and promote first-time fixes.
• Assist with day-to-day management and coordination of activities.
• Model safe behaviours and promote a positive H&S culture.
• Cover activities when managers are unavailable.
• Participate in out-of-hours standby rotas.
