Taylor Hobson invites a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our world-class R&D team, pushing ultra-high-precision technology toward nanometre accuracy. You will lead concept and detailed design efforts, mentor engineers, and shape robust solutions across cross-functional projects.

You will influence design reviews, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver projects on time and within budget, while guiding a small team of engineers and collaborating with customers to meet demanding

Qualifications

Degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related discipline with 5+ years in senior/principal mechanical engineering roles.
Experience leading small design teams (3–5 engineers).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering, materials, processes and quality systems.
Proficiency in major CAD tools and PDM systems.
Working knowledge of drives and control systems.
Excellent MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

Lead development of concept and detailed design solutions.
Investigate and resolve complex mechanical design issues.
Lead and participate in design reviews.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and contractors.
Deliver projects on schedule and within cost targets.
Ensure designs meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
