Job summary

Taylor Hobson, part of AMETEK, is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead complex mechanical designs from concept to production within a world-class R&D team. You will drive product direction, set technical standards, and mentor a small team of engineers and contractors.

The role requires strong leadership, deep mechanical engineering knowledge, and demonstrated success delivering opto-electro-mechanical solutions through full development lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading and mentoring small design teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering, materials, processes, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of robust concept and detailed design solutions.
• Investigate, analyse, and resolve complex mechanical design issues.
• Lead and participate in design reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and contractors.
• Deliver projects to schedule and cost targets.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
