Job summary

Spire Manchester Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our dedicated team. You will lead day-to-day management of a high-quality Pre-Assessment service and ensure patients are clinically prepared for surgery.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration is required.
• Experience in Pre-Assessment and/or surgical services is essential.
• Proven leadership or team management experience.
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage a varied and complex patient caseload.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership, guidance and support to the Pre-Assessment team
• Delivering comprehensive pre-operative assessments for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Working closely with consultants, anaesthetists and clinical teams to optimise patient outcomes
• Ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, patient safety and service delivery
• Supporting service improvements and helping drive excellence across the department
• Managing complex and sensitive patient conversations with professionalism and compassion
• Supporting the development, education and ongoing growth of colleagues within the team
• Promoting an inclusive culture that values equality, diversity and respect for all
• Maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control
