Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Lead for Pre-Operative Assessment. You will provide clinical leadership, develop and manage the pre-assessment team, and drive evidence-based care with professional standards across sites in the city and community.

You will lead policy development, training, governance and service improvements while maintaining professional practice and workforce development. Closing date 11 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Registered with NMC or HCPC as appropriate for pre-operative nursing leadership.
• Working towards a Masters degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pre-assessment team, ensuring safe, competent clinical practice.
• Monitor staff performance, sickness, leave and training needs.
• Oversee documentation standards in line with NMC and Trust guidance.
• Manage budgets, stock, and procurement for pre-operative services.
• Lead incident investigations, audits and service improvements.
