Job summary

Certinia is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to steer the platform engineering direction for its AI agents and services. The platform runs Kubernetes on AWS with a service mesh, handling identity, AI gateway, cost governance and audit layers to safely operate AI workloads on Salesforce data.

You will work across Helm/Terraform provisioning, gateway layers, and CI/CD pipelines, guiding application teams. Leadership, mentoring and on-call ownership are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in a meaningful programming language (Go preferred) and a track record designing, building and operating production platforms at scale.
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including ecosystem components beyond basic usage and cloud familiarity (AWS preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) at scale across multiple accounts/environments.
• Experience with CI/CD at scale, pipelines, releases, and quality gates.
• Proven ability to lead engineers, coordinate cross-team initiatives and mentor senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction of the platform across sub-domains.
• Establish and codify best practices, standards and conventions.
• Lead improvements in architecture, performance, reliability and security.
• Diagnose platform issues and resolve them.
• Coordinate across teams for initiatives spanning boundaries.
• Represent the platform team in cross-organisation meetings and security reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and evaluate new approaches/technologies.
• Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide input.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to recruitment and development.
• Own incident-response and disaster-recovery processes when required.
