Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician for Homecare to coordinate services, support onboarding, and supervise the Homecare team. You will work with pharmacists and clinicians to ensure safe, patient-focused delivery in patients\' homes.

The role involves managing day-to-day Homecare operations, achieving KPIs, and implementing cost-saving improvements while maintaining high standards of care across Bedfordshire sites.

Qualifications

• A registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC is required.
• NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent is essential.
• Leadership/management experience or qualifications are preferred.
• Membership in professional bodies is advantageous.
• Desirable certification for homecare prescription screening.

Responsibilities

• Support coordination and provision of Homecare services to patients.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians, assistants and admin staff in Homecare.
• Help deliver KPIs for the Homecare service.
• Participate in clinical screening/verification of Homecare prescriptions.
• Engage in cross-site groups to drive Pharmacy strategy and improvements.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to onboard patients and counsel where needed.
• Act as link between clinical teams and Pharmacy for cost-saving initiatives.

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills

NVQ 3 in Leadership and Management or equivalent experience

Membership of APTUK

CIPS level 3 certificate in purchasing and supply or willing to undertake

Certified by PWDS Homecare Services to screen prescriptions
