Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to lead the Homecare service, coordinating delivery of specialist medicines to patients at home.

You will work with Pharmacists and clinical teams, supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support onboarding of patients, ensuring safety, accuracy and efficiency.

The role offers a supportive team, opportunities to develop skills in a growing Homecare service across Bedfordshire sites.

Qualifications

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.
• Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
• Accredited Checking Technician (ACPT).
• NVQ 3 in Leadership and Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Pharmacy Technician with coordination and provision of Homecare services.
• Undertake day-to-day supervision/line management of staff in Homecare.
• Support delivery of KPIs for the Homecare service.
• Assist clinical screening/verification of homecare prescriptions after certification.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to onboard patients and counsel where appropriate.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives such as biosimilar switches and generic switches.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, confidentiality and service quality.
