Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is recruiting for a Lead Pharmacy Technician – Electronic Prescribing and Pharmacy, in Wakefield. The role is 22.5 hours per week, focused on developing, optimising and maintaining Electronic Prescribing Systems and Pharmacy IT systems to improve patient safety and service quality.

The post involves collaborating with EPMA teams, providing expert technical support, contributing to digital projects, and producing reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Electronic Prescribing and Pharmacy IT systems.
• Provide expert pharmacy technician advice to support safe use of EPMA.
• Support the implementation of electronic systems and digital projects.
• Manage electronic formularies with ICBs and local networks.
• Analyse prescribing data to inform service improvement and governance.
• Develop and implement EPMA standard operating procedures.
• Liaise with medical, nursing and pharmacy staff to optimise EPMA use.
• Communicate changes in prescribing pathways to stakeholders.
