Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to drive the development, optimisation and maintenance of Electronic Prescribing and Pharmacy IT systems. The role involves providing expert EPMA support, data analysis and formulary collaboration across the Trust.

You will lead a team, manage projects, conduct clinical audits and contribute to patient safety and service improvement through digital transformation. NHS experience in a hospital setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable post-registration experience in a hospital pharmacy environment.
• Experience in using electronic prescribing systems.
• Experience in conducting audits and interpreting data.
• Experience in writing and reviewing SOPs for dispensary and ward medicines.
• Experience of cost-effective prescribing.
• Experience in staff recruitment and managing teams.
• Experience working with service level agreements across organisations.
• Experience delivering training.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, maintenance and future development of Electronic Prescribing and Pharmacy IT systems.
• Be a superuser for electronic prescribing systems and develop routine housekeeping for optimal performance.
• Manage ongoing formulary management with ICBs and local networks.
• Analyse prescribing data to inform improvements and present findings to stakeholders.
• Produce reports on medicines usage, system performance and costs.
• Lead EPMA training and support across pharmacy teams.
• Provide leadership and management support within the pharmacy department.
