Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust's Chapel Allerton Hospital is seeking an experienced Band 6 Registered Practitioner to join the Orthopaedic and Spinal Theatre Team. You will provide high-quality perioperative care within our Elective Surgical Hub.

The role offers clinical leadership and mentorship with a focus on patient safety and governance. Current registration with the NMC or HCPC is essential.

We value teamwork and continuous improvement within our expanding elective orthopaedic service.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Level 1) or Registered Operating Department Practitioner with recognised teaching/assessing qualification.
• Significant perioperative or equivalent experience in the relevant specialty.
• Awareness of clinical audit and standard setting; up-to-date professional practice standards.
• Caring, reliable and motivated with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate theatre day-to-day activities and maintain effective communication within the peri-operative team.
• Provide visible clinical leadership and support to staff at all levels; contribute to service improvement.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in governance, audit and quality improvement.
• Support learning and development of the peri-operative team and learners.
