Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stafford is seeking a Senior Operating Department Practitioner to lead the orthopaedic theatre team. You will perform scrub duties, supervise junior staff, and contribute to delivering high‑quality perioperative care across a Monday–Saturday schedule.

The role offers a structured preceptorship and ongoing professional development within a large NHS trust. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ theatre experience, NMC/HPCA

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ theatre experience with leadership capability.
• Must hold NMC/HPCA registration.
• Excellent scrub and Orthopaedic theatre skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a theatre team and support senior staff in orthopaedic lists.
• Undertake scrub roles within the Orthopaedic Theatres.
• Adapt to a Monday–Saturday roster with long day shifts and provide preceptorship/education.
