Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Junior sister / Charge Nurse (Band 6) in Paediatric Critical Care. The role centres on immediate critical care for children in PICU/PHDU and NWTS, with leadership of PCC teams and support for junior staff.

The post-holder will report to the Senior Sisters, drive high standards of care, and participate in audit, teaching and service development. Salary is £39,959–£48,117 per annum, pro rata, with permanent, full-time terms.

Qualifications

• First level registration - RN(Child)/RSCN. Post basic evidence of study.
• Evidence of recent professional development.
• Advanced Paediatric Critical Care Course or equivalent.
• Mentor for pre-registration students.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate care to critically ill children.
• Support junior staff and act as role model within PCC.
• Deputise for senior nurse during emergencies and lead clinical care.
• Contribute to audit, research, teaching and service improvement.
