Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Paediatric Charge Nurse/Sister to lead a busy paediatric ward in London. You will manage care for children from 0–18, coordinate with families, and mentor junior staff to uphold high standards.

The role focuses on delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care, with opportunities to develop oncology/haematology skills within a shared care POSCU. A collaborative MDT approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced paediatric nurse with senior ward leadership.
• Ability to assess and develop child and family care plans.
• Proficient in paediatric resuscitation and venepuncture.

Responsibilities

• Set and monitor high standards of paediatric nursing care for children.
• Lead shift as Sister/Charge Nurse when required.
• Coordinate care with parents, teams and other departments.
• Support discharge planning to ensure timely hospital discharge.
• Develop oncology/haematology skills as part of POSCU.
