Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to provide professional leadership across five inpatient wards and to maintain a clinical caseload for complex mental health needs. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based interventions, mentoring staff, and driving service improvement within a rehabilitation framework.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to advance recovery-oriented practice, discharge planning, and pathway development

Qualifications

• Registered OT with HCPC registration.
• Experience leading OT services and supervising staff.
• Strong leadership and change management experience.
• Experience in rehabilitation and discharge planning.
• Ability to deliver evidence-based, person-centered interventions.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration.
• Experience with quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and clinical leadership for OT across five wards.
• Maintain a clinical caseload with complex mental health needs.
• Lead assessment, formulation, and delivery of OT interventions.
• Ensure practice is evidence-based and outcome-focused.
• Support staff development through supervision, appraisal, teaching.
• Lead service improvement, audit and QA initiatives.
• Contribute to operational planning and rehab pathways.
• Collaborate with carers, families, community services, and external agencies.
