Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a Dementia Home Treatment Team covering Powys. You will manage complex caseloads, deliver rehab, provide supervision, and contribute to service development.

HCPC registration is required, with travel across Powys and possible leadership of junior staff. Applicants with specialist experience are preferred, but a 2-year competency framework at Band 6 may be offered for those starting from a related background,

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in occupational therapy.
• Significant postgraduate training and documented continuing professional development.
• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation, clinical governance principles and their application.
• Specialist knowledge of OT assessments and interventions for the client group.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating interventions using evidence-based, client-centred principles.
• Provide leadership to junior staff through supervision and appraisal.
• Allocate work to support staff and monitor their skills and competencies.
• Deliver person-centred rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in planning and evaluating OT services in the designated area and lead defined projects.
• Deputise for Team Leader when necessary.
• Supervise OT students on practice placements and contribute to service development across Powys.
