Job summary

HelloKindred is seeking a Principal Oracle DBA to join our DBA team supporting the Legal Aid Agency within the Ministry of Justice. The role emphasizes guidance, modernisation, and DevOps practices for Oracle databases hosted in AWS.

You will mentor Lead and Senior DBAs, design scalable schemas, tune SQL, manage RMAN and OEM, and ensure secure, stable databases across Unix/Linux environments with occasional travel for workshops.

Qualifications

• Expert experience with Oracle Database versions 10g, 11g, and 12c on Unix/Linux.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN backup/recovery and OEM monitoring.
• Demonstrated DevOps adoption and automation of DBA tasks.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior DBAs and participate in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Oracle database administration and modernisation within a multidisciplinary team.
• Guide and support Senior DBAs across troubleshooting and operations.
• Drive true DevOps practices across DBA activities and pipelines.
• Automate tasks via scripting and infrastructure-as-code; manage deployments.
• Configure and maintain AWS-based Oracle environments and EBS R12 contexts.
• Perform SQL tuning, schema design, and PL/SQL upgrades; patching and upgrades.
• Administer RMAN, OEM, WebLogic, SOA, Portal, IAM; support EBS concurrent managers.
• Collaborate in Agile product teams and mentor team members.
