Job summary

Randstad Technologies Recruitment is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator on a contract basis. The role is based in Blackpool or Newcastle with a hybrid model (3 days on-site). It is a fixed-term contract through March 2027, Inside IR35.

The candidate will lead a modernization programme, overseeing critical database platforms, and drive automation and incident management. The ideal candidate will have extensive Oracle RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Data Pump, and GoldenGate experience, plus

Qualifications

• Strong production experience with Oracle 12c/19c on Linux and AIX.
• Deep expertise in Oracle RAC (ASM, AFD) and Data Guard setups.
• Hands-on cloud experience with public cloud (OCI or AWS) and writing IaC with Terraform/Ansible.
• Advanced RMAN backup/recovery and migration tooling (Data Pump, GoldenGate, ZDM).
• Implementation of security controls including TLS encryption and secure cloud networking.

Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Contract)

Location: Blackpool or Newcastle (Hybrid - 3 days/week on-site)

The Role

We are hiring an experienced Senior Oracle DBA for a modernization programme. You will serve as the technical lead overseeing mission-critical database platforms, driving cloud modernization, automating infrastructure, and handling major incident escalations.

Key Requirements

• Core Oracle: Strong production experience with Oracle 12c/19c on Linux and AIX.
• High Availability & DR: Deep expertise in Oracle RAC (ASM, AFD) and Data Guard setups.
• Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with public cloud (OCI or AWS) and writing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible).
• Migrations & Backup: Advanced RMAN backup/recovery, alongside migration tooling (Data Pump, GoldenGate, ZDM).
• Security & Governance: Implementation of TDE, TLS encryption, and secure cloud network segregation.
• Incident Management: Proven ability to lead incident triage and provide out-of-hours support when required.

Role Requirements

• Based on-site 3 days per week in either Blackpool or Newcastle.
• Flexibility to join a scheduled out-of-hours on-call rota.
