Job summary

MARCH is seeking a Project Engineer for our site in Bury St Edmunds. You will coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities on site, supervising on-site teams and subcontractors to deliver safely, on time and to specification.

You will work with project managers, engineers and clients, ensuring progress reporting, lookahead programmes and compliance with all standards. Strong safety focus and practical leadership required.

Qualifications

• ONC/NVQ Level 5 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely or similar health and safety qualifications.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical or mechanical supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all on-site electrical and/or mechanical works, including installation, testing and commissioning.
• Monitor project progress against plans, specifications, programmes and milestones.
• Coordinate timely procurement of materials and plant to ensure efficient completion.
• Manage and oversee MARCH operatives, tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Provide technical support, guidance and mentoring to site teams.
• Ensure works comply with specifications, regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular quality and safety inspections; promote safety culture.
