Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to support the delivery of a major construction project in Suffolk. The role is site-based or hybrid, with a 6 month contract starting August 2026.

You will lead the MEP design process, coordinate external consultants, and ensure timely design information while working closely with project managers and stakeholders to meet milestones and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an MEP Design Manager or Building Services Design Manager.
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience managing external consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Good understanding of construction methodology and project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the MEP design process from detailed design through to project completion.
• Coordinate and oversee external MEP design consultants.
• Review and manage design deliverables to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
• Liaise with project managers, commercial teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.
• Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, British Standards and project specifications.
• Monitor design progress and report on key milestones and risks.
• Support the construction team with technical queries throughout the build.
• Maintain design quality, document control and project compliance.
