Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Principal Civil Structural Engineer for senior technical and people leadership on major nuclear programs in Sheffield and Manchester. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, shape safety-related structures, and work with safety case and hazard specialists to substantiate requirements.

Balancing technical depth with leadership, you will support bid development, build strong client relationships, and drive the growth of our Power New Build business.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (IStructE/ICE) with nuclear sector experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to grow teams.
• Experience delivering safety-related structures in a nuclear context.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of nuclear safety-related structures or assess existing facilities.
• Collaborate with safety case and hazard specialists to substantiate requirements.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical oversight while fostering collaboration.
