Job summary

AtkinsRéalis's Design & Advanced Technology Practice is seeking a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer to support the UK Nuclear & Defence portfolio. You will lead the delivery of heavy civil structures, apply advanced structural engineering methods, and mentor junior engineers within a safety‑critical environment.

The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle, designing reinforced concrete and structural steel solutions, and building strong client

Qualifications

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with Chartered status.
Experience in design and delivery of heavy civil structures in nuclear/defence.
Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and underground structures.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate teams on nuclear/defence projects.
Provide technical leadership for heavy civil structures.
Produce calculations, reports, specifications and drawings.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and international delivery centres.
Mentor engineers and support technical excellence.
