Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Corporation, based at Llay, Wrexham, is seeking a Lead NC Programming Engineer. The role focuses on interpreting customer specifications and engineering drawings to program and verify components on CNC machines, while driving down machine over-capacity to meet CI targets.

Key responsibilities include leading the NC Programming team, creating prove-out documentation, and ensuring adherence to health, safety and 5S/6S standards.

Qualifications

HNC/HND or BSc in engineering or equivalent.
5 years of High Speed Machining experience.
5 years at this level in a similar role.
Strong CATIA V5 programming and CAD skills.

Responsibilities

Engineer components using NC programming and verifying on CNC machines.
Create prove-out sheets and oversee prove-out of new programs.
Interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings.
Design fixtures and jigs; construct solid models.
Improve processes to reduce runtimes and meet CI targets.
Lead NC Programming team; allocate workload and provide technical support.
Ensure safety, quality, and 5S/6S standards.
