Job summary

St Mark's Catholic School is seeking a maternity cover for a subject leader and head of the Music Department. The post runs from January 2027 to January 2028 on a 0.8 part-time basis, combining teaching and leadership responsibilities.

The successful candidate will teach Music from KS3 to KS5, lead the department, and nurture students' love of music, creativity and performance within a Catholic ethos and high standards of attainment.

Qualifications

• Not an early career teacher (ECT)
• Strong leadership with a clear vision for the Music Department
• Excellent knowledge of Music and ability to teach KS3–KS5
• High expectations and commitment to enabling all students to fulfil their potential
• Effective communication and organisational skills
• Full enhanced DBS check
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to develop own skills and help the team develop
