Job summary

The Gap, Inc. Northwich site is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to support 24/7 operations, delivering engineering cover across day and night shifts. The role demands strong leadership, practical electrical qualifications, and hands-on problem solving.

You will lead a shift engineering team, prioritise workloads, and collaborate with Shift Managers to maintain safe, efficient plant operation. FMCG/food sector experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Multiskilled Engineer with at least 5 years experience.
• Apprenticeship trained with Level 3 BTEC ONC qualification.
• Must be electrically qualified with certification.
• Experience in leading a team.
• FMCG experience, preferably food industry.
• Comfortable working both in a team and alone.

Responsibilities

• To ensure delivery of the Engineering support to the Northwich site across 24/7 enabling the Engineering team to provide the required levels of service in support of the manufacturing strategy.
• To ensure the safe, effective and efficient running of the department is maintained through the engineering shift teams.
• To ensure daily workloads are prioritised and delivered in compliance to site policies and procedures.
• Co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a shift engineering team in providing support to the operations team.
• Operate as senior engineering point of contact for Shift Managers.
• Support Short Interval Control, and daily endo of shift review meetings with Shift Managers.
• Participate in Improvement Groups e.g. wastage reduction.
• Complete a clear and comprehensive handover to incoming shift engineering team.
