Leonardo, a global high-tech company, has an immediate opportunity for a Lead Modelling and Simulation System Engineer in Southampton and Basildon. We are seeking a Lead Systems Engineer who excels in the Modelling and Simulation environment.

About The Role

As the Lead Modelling and Simulation System Engineer, you will develop and optimize system architecture across our range of products and applications. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing fully traceable system models
  • Creating system requirements and translating them into subsystem requirements and interface definitions using MBSE techniques
  • Designing and integrating new functionalities into existing subsystems in Simulink
  • Designing and prototyping algorithms in MATLAB
  • Providing MBSE support to system design activities
  • Supporting trade-off analyses
About You

You should have proven experience as a Modelling and Simulation System Engineer, gained through industry or advanced academic research.

Attributes Required Include
  • Expertise in MATLAB, Simulink, CAMEO-SIM, MagicDraw, or similar tools (SysML/UML)
  • Experience or support in mode development processes and plans
  • Experience or support in governing a model-based engineering approach
  • Experience or support in model architecture development and optimization
Nice to Have / Non-Essential Skills
  • Electro-Optics systems design
  • Awareness of concept design and trade space analysis
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Awareness of model architecture development
