Job summary

RoBAT Ltd., a subsidiary of Mycronic, invites an experienced Lead Mechatronics Engineer to join our Macclesfield facility. You will design mechanical structures, linear motors and active force-feedback mechanisms to test PCBs, and lead the development of complex robotic systems.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical and controls teams, integrate hardware and software, and optimize industrial robotic platforms (4-axis/6-axis) to deliver high-precision PCB testing solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Inventor/SolidWorks) with focus on vibration dampening and rigidity.
• Experience designing active force-sensing end effectors for delicate surface contact.

Responsibilities

• Integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components into unified robotic platforms.
• Program and optimize industrial robotic systems (4-axis and 6-axis automation).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and develop Robotic installations.
