Job summary

RoBAT Ltd., a subsidiary of Mycronic, is seeking a Lead Mechatronics Engineer (Robotics) in Macclesfield. You will design mechanical structures, linear motors, and active force‑feedback mechanisms to test PCBs, leading the development of complex robotic systems and mechatronic sub‑assemblies.

You will integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components, program industrial robots, and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver high‑value automation solutions.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong 3D CAD skills with Inventor or SolidWorks for vibration dampening and rigidity are essential.
• Experience developing active force‑sensing end effectors for delicate surface contact is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components into unified robotic platforms.
• Program and optimize industrial robotic systems (4‑axis and 6‑axis automation).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot, fault‑find, and support developmental robotic installations.
