Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Technical Director for the Data Centres sector, primarily focused on the UK and EMEA markets. The role requires leading a team of engineers, shaping technical strategies, and delivering innovative, energy-efficient data centre solutions.

You will collaborate with clients, developers, and architects, oversee budgets and forecasting, and drive business development within the Mission Critical Facilities team.

Qualifications

• Chartered status or working toward chartership (CIBSE/IET/IMechE).
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems: HVAC, cooling, energy management.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor engineers and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Be integral to day-to-day team management and leadership; develop team spirit and collaboration.
• Develop client relationships and brand within UK/EMEA.
• Meet monthly/annual team budgets; assist with budget planning and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with director and senior leadership on strategic initiatives and broader business goals.
• Oversee team performance: pipeline, finances, and operations; manage client relations.
