Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Reading to lead mechanical design across water and wastewater projects. You will drive feasibility, design, construction and commissioning, ensuring alignment with client standards and best practices.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with electrical, civil and process teams, and collaborate with commercial and construction teams to deliver safe, practical solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Chartered Mechanical Engineer or above with water/wastewater experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for process industries.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning and execution of mechanical engineering aspects.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and project teams.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Develop mechanical design for water and wastewater infrastructure through lifecycle.
