Job summary

Stantec is expanding its Midlands Mechanical Engineering team and seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex water and wastewater projects across the Midlands. You will own feasibility through to commissioning, mentor engineers, and build strong client relationships with multidisciplinary teams.

You will influence project outcomes, drive technical excellence, and contribute to growth of our Midlands capability while operating in a hybrid working model

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
• CEng/IEng or actively working towards.
• Strong experience delivering detailed mechanical design in UK water sector.
• Experience leading technical delivery across multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent understanding of water/wastewater treatment, pumping stations and related systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical capability.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design across water and wastewater treatment works and pumping stations.
• Deliver projects from feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Produce and review technical calculations, specs, reports and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams and ensure delivery quality.
• Mentor and develop engineers within the team.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, contractors and suppliers to deliver outcomes.
• Contribute to business development, framework delivery and continuous improvement.
