Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical delivery of mechanical projects across the full lifecycle in the UK water sector. Based in the South of England with offices in Brighton, London, High Wycombe, Reading or Southampton, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, specify and support delivery of water and wastewater facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
• Experience delivering detailed mechanical design within the UK water sector.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, pumping stations and mechanical systems.
• Experience leading technical project delivery and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of mechanical engineering projects across the full lifecycle (feasibility to commissioning).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for water and wastewater facilities and associated systems; ensure safety and quality.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to governance and project planning, and support client relationships.
• Drive innovative engineering solutions and support AMP8 delivery.
